We are so incredible thankful to receive a SILVER donation from the Clothier Family, and when we asked why they felt compelled to donate, their response makes us so incredibly proud to be a part of the Matamata Community. This is why
“The Clothier and Boyte families have proudly called Matamata home for an impressive duration of over 100 years. Over this remarkable span of time, they have woven themselves into the very fabric of the community, establishing successful businesses that have contributed significantly to the local economy and culture. Among the prominent members of this legacy are Rose and the late Bruce Clothier, who have nurtured a vibrant family that continues to thrive in this beautiful town. They are the proud parents of seven sons, who have, in turn, blessed them with 18 grandchildren and an astounding 20 great-great-grandchildren.
This extensive family tree not only highlights the enduring presence of the Clothiers in Matamata but also reflects a strong sense of community and connection across generations. In a testament to their commitment to giving back, Rose and the late Bruce Clothier have recently made a generous donation to the Matamata Sports & Recreation Hub that is being built on the Matamata College grounds. This contribution is more than just a financial gift, it represents a heartfelt way of repaying the community that has supported their family through the years. By investing in the sports club, they are helping to foster a spirit of teamwork, camaraderie, and healthy living among the youth and residents of Matamata.
This act of generosity exemplifies their enduring dedication to enriching the lives of those around them and ensuring that future generations can also enjoy the benefits of a vibrant and engaged community.”
Thank you Clothier family – we are so grateful & thankful to have you as a part of our community.
