Today we are very proud to announce a new Silver Sponsor – $25,000 towards our amazing stadium, from a just as amazing man – Mr Paul Tidmarsh. Paul is a well known born and bred Matamata man who now resides in Mt Maunganui (there is a fairly strong Matamata contingent here!). He has even published a book about his life, well distributed amongst locals.
“I was 22 when I started out on my own. I was 44 when approached by a Swedish Company (this is 1990). Svedela were the second largest quarry and mining equipment manufacturers in the world and they had come to NZ to ask me to sell my company to them. The answer was “yes” but with conditions. Since then I have bought and sold a number of resource companies. Blue Pacific Minerals my current industrial minerals venture, has been in business now for just on 20 years. On reflection of my life’s achievements I consider myself a very lucky man. I have never got out of bed in the morning and not wanted to go to work. I found the job I loved and I have never had to work a day in my life.”
